Carmella Cardina’s career began in the theatre and later in film and television.
In 2001, Carmella produced and directed the indie feature, “The Tempest,” based on
the play by William Shakespeare. She wrote and directed two short films, “When Night
Falls,” and “The Scrapbook” which starred Kelly Carlin-McCall, George Carlin’s
daughter. She’s directed music videos for symphonic rock band, The Longing.
Carmella was supervising producer on Showtime Networks’ the popular comedy, “The
Green Room with Paul Provenza.” In addition, she directed two episodes of the series
that were produced in Montreal in conjunction with the Just for Laughs Festival.
Carmella produced the live show “Set List: Standup without a Net” at the Edinburgh
Fringe Festival and the Soho Theatre in London, and the series for Sky Atlantic
Television. Carmella also directed Showtime Network special, “House of Lies—LIVE”
with the cast of “House of Lies.”
Cardina has produced and/or directed projects for Showtime, Sky Atlantic, ABC Digital,
and MTV among others.
