A must-see play for Janis fans and something that music historians and fans of simple and straight forward performances will enjoy. These kinds of stories and takes on moments of history are what the Fringe is all about!...

A thought-provoking show centered on a strong performance with an honest and unique script. It's a performance that will stick with you after you have left the stage and reminds you of the struggles black actresses and black women in general go through on a daily basis. ...

While the play may tackle a morose topic it is an important look at human relationships, our views of other cultures and ethnicities. It's a raw look and at sometimes unpleasant but that's the point and the story never gets too dark nor too clever.
The acting is superb, the direction is excellent and the story is powerful and resonated with me in a way that is hard to describe. This is a magnificent play that people should definitely seek out....

A powerful play that will speak to anyone who has ever struggled with loneliness, depression or perhaps even addiction. The best part is this isn't a downer of a play, this is inspiring and touching and beautiful. There is hope in these tales, there is a dignity to the stories even amongst the undignified. It is such a refreshing take on subjects of this kind and it's bold attitude made it such a great experience....

A fantastic show and a standout in terms of it's direction, acting and writing. It is unique and yet at it's core tells a common story, and invites reactions from the audience due to it's universal themes across all genders and romantic pursuits. Funny most of the time but powerfully heartbreaking at other moments this is the kind of play that makes going to the Fringe great!...

This story was one that needed to be told and told correctly, it is a passion project in every sense of the word and it feels like a "biopic" done right. Informative, funny, sometimes a tad dark but always entertaining this is a comedic show that centers on the art of comedy as well as it's potential consequences. I really enjoyed this program....

If you are a fan of the film noir genre this is a must see show, it's got jokes, comedy, mystery, dancing, sexy dancing it's got it all! From the opening credits that rival "Deadpool" in it's meta use of the form this is a non-stop joke machine!...
