Shafer is a company member of the Illyrian Players – LA’s sex-positive theatre company, where he has played Uncle Peck in ‘How I Learned to Drive’, Petruchio in ‘The Taming of the Shrew’, Clive and Cathy in ‘Cloud 9’, and the Lord himself in ‘Lord Blackberry’s Apocalypse’. He has performed at The Blank, A Noise Within, The Echo, The Actor’s Studio, Seattle Repertory Theatre and ReAct, among many others.
In film and television, Shafer specializes in playing sad bastards and pervs.
Also a film director, Shafer recently completed the shorts, That Cookie Smell and Person’s Reset.
