I’m Mary-Jo; an award-winning writer whose work was called “A masterpiece in urban satire that will have you laughing so hard you’ll glow,” by Canada’s national paper, the Globe and Mail. As a dabbling comedian, I’ve performed in Vancouver, Toronto, New York, and LA and was a finalist for Vancouver’s Funniest New Female Comedian. As a writer, I’ve interviewed notable greats like Ellen DeGeneres, Katherine Heigl, and Cloris Leachman (with whom I spent a very memorable evening curled up in bed being regaled with stories about working with the likes of none other than Charlie Chaplin, my childhood idol). I trained at the London Academy of Media, Film and Television in the UK, as well as at the American Comedy Institute in New York City. I am mommy to an amazing nine-month-old human alien, whose journey to earthly manifestation serves as the inspiration of my show, “Glowing: A Reproduction Production”, which debuted at the Vancouver International Fringe Festival in 2013.
