Leon Shanglebee – (PRODUCER/DIRECTOR) – Leon is ecstatic about being the resident producer/director of the GANGBUSTERS THEATRE COMPANY. He last produced WOYZECK at The NYC FRINGE (a production that originated in Los Angeles). Other shows as producer/director for the Gangbusters include: TRACERS (Backstage Garland Award nominated Best Director), TALK RADIO (LA Weekly Award nominated Best One-Act Ensemble), BALM IN GILEAD (LA Weekly Award nominated Best Production), STREAMERS (NAACP nominated Best Director), ALL IN THE TIMING, DRINKING IN AMERICA, SEX, DRUGS, ROCK N’ ROLL and Eugene O’Neill’s HUGHIE. Leon is also an accomplished playwright with such pieces as: MEET ME ON CRENSHAW AND SLAUSON; IF BLACK IS BAD, I DON’T WANT TO BE GOOD and the Award-Winning THAT NIGHT IN THE AUDUBAHN BALLROOM.
