Michael Barnard (he, him)

Producer, Writer, Actor

I’ve been a creative and hands-on producer and a writer of scripts and articles since high school when I would work on live television broadcasts and was the editor of my school newspaper.

I have worked in broadcast television and radio and worked on films and videos of all kinds in front of and behind the cameras and microphones. I am an actor, now SAG-AFTRA, but years ago I was in several Equity Waiver plays.

I have volunteered at film festivals, and spent a decade at Sundance Film Festival as a “STOPs” working with the talent and filmmakers for their screenings.

My background has been indie film, but I recently quit pushing my two current indie film screenplays because the indie film industry is in such turmoil. I decided to write a so-call NonDē (“non-dependent”) very contained microbudget indie film screenplay.

I discovered I actually wrote a one-act stage play.

The story of “BOYLE HEIGHTS 1939” is important and powerful because it is historically accurate and reflects the tragedy of what is happening in this country today.

Producing a play is new to me, but I’ve worked on a lot of TV and film and music videos productions (and did act in plays long ago).

I’m on IMDb at https://IMDb.me/MichaelRBarnard

I am eager to become a part of Hollywood Fringe and want to be a contributor of a great play.
