Gabrielle Johnsen (she/her)

Actor

Gabrielle Johnsen is an actor and writer born and raised in Wauwatosa, Wisconsin. She is performing in two shows at the 2025 Hollywood Fringe Festival – feel free to come see her perform as Autumn in Ryan Lisman’s dark and compelling And What of the Children or as Le Beau in Colleen Hammond Whitmore’s cheery, fast-paced production of Shakespeare’s As You Like It

Gabrielle has a BA in Theatre Arts and English from Loyola Marymount University. While at university, she had the privilege of completing a theatre-intensive study abroad program in Bonn, Germany, which instilled in her a passion for movement-based, evocative storytelling. Post-graduation, she has developed a budding interest in stage combat, garnering certifications in rapier & dagger and unarmed techniques by the SAFD and DAI. In addition to her stage work, Gabrielle has starred in a series of film projects, most recently Spark Plug (2024) and Capital Games (2023). She is hopeful to continue working in both film and theatre spaces in the near future.

Aside from her acting, Gabrielle is also a prolific writer, having published a series of poems and essays. Feel free to peruse her Substack, alien essence (alienessence.substack.com), for a look into her style and voice.
