Bobby Traversa is a true multi-hyphenate, having worn many hats over the course of the roller coaster ride that you’d call his career. He’s performed actual magic tricks at Disneyland, peddled overpriced toys to rich kids on 5th Avenue, and once became a viral sensation for his mad tour guiding skills around the Big Apple. He’s also an accomplished theater artist, having served as the personal assistant and Producing Associate to two-time Tony nominated Broadway producer Rich Affannato (“Peter and the Starcatcher”, Kander and Ebb’s “The Visit”) and as one of the co-founders of the now-defunct STAGE Network. On his own, he has directed, produced, and acted all over the United States. Acting credits include “Norman’s Ark” (The Ford Amphitheater – dir. Peter Schneider), Motel in “Fiddler on the Roof” (Sierra Repertory Theatre), The Newsboy in “Jekyll & Hyde” (Cabrillo Music Theatre – Ovation Nominated Best Musical), and the first reading of the stage adaptation of the cult film “The First Nudie Musical”. He is also fondly remembered as running the music library at AMDA Los Angeles for nearly half a decade and serving as assistant (and emotional support system) to a faculty of Broadway vets that included Danny Gurwin, Hadley Fraser, Tony nominees Alyson Reed and Jane Lanier, and legend Karen Morrow.
Fun Fact: While all the other drama kids in high school were enjoying the cast recordings to things like “Avenue Q” and “Wicked”, Bobby was obsessing over bootleg recordings of “Carrie” and “Bring Back Birdie”. As such, Hollywood Fringe is completely on brand. How’s that for an aesthetic?
