Kimberly Divad is a first generation Haitian- American Writer/Director, Actress born and raised in New York, currently in LA.
She is a lover of horror, comedies, surrealism/ absurdity and her work is centered within these genres. The stories she’s interested in telling are those of the misunderstood and exploring motivations to understand their perspectives. Her mission is to provide a platform where black and underrepresented talent have a place within these stories.
Her Project “Perception” was an official selection of The American Horrors Film Festival, The Women of The Lens Festival in 2020, and she also won Best Actress for her performance on 13horror.com. Her short “Creepers” which she wrote & directed was an official selection of Newark InternationalFilmFest and The New York Science Fiction Festival amongst others. Her short film script “Thank Mother” placed as a quarter finalist in Killer Shorts this past February 2024. Her short film “Grapefruit” premiered at the Oscars qualifying VC fest and her project, W(HOLE), a dystopian care centered short film, is a finalist for the 2024 Storytelling with Care grant sponsored by Caring across America and the National Domestic Workers Alliance. She currently serves as a community leader for Sundance Collab and is a recipient of Her House of Horror 5k grant for the short film version of NOTES! From a Killer.
