Benjamin Scuglia

Benjamin Scuglia is an author and playwright, actor, producer and stage manager, and recovering curmudgeon of moderate renown. 2018 marks his fifth consecutive Fringe experience; this year, he is Associate Producer of MICHAEL KEARNS’ BLOODBOUND (2nd Stage/The Blank) and Stage Manager for all of the shows playing the Main Stage at Sacred Fools.

He is a member of Theatre West, where he has produced many shows, including award-winning runs of Jule Selbo’s BOXES, Garry Michael Kluger’s A THORN IN THE FAMILY PAW and Leslie Caveny’s ONE WOMAN GONE WRONG.

Benjamin has stage managed all around Los Angeles and frequently collaborates with Classical Theatre Lab, Fierce Backbone and Theatre Planners. Recent SM gigs include site-specific, immersive horror theatre for Unbound Productions’ WICKED LIT, director Robert Allen Ackerman’s acclaimed world premiere of BLOOD, and a workshop production of the new play GOD LOOKED AWAY with Judith Light and Al Pacino.

Benjamin’s short plays LAST OF HIS KIND, LIBRARY and CURRENT RESIDENT were co-winners of the 2015-17 Pride Play Reading Series sponsored by the City of West Hollywood. His short play GAY FOR PAY was a 2015 Top 30 Finalist for the Samuel French Off-Off-Broadway Short Play Festival in New York. His full-length play THE MAN WHO SAVED EVERYTHING will have its world premiere in August at Theatre West.
