MARYAMMYIKADAY – does it all. Actress, Writer and Producer. Most recently creating “Love Me Richie!” and her new short film “Waiting for SuperMEN?!” premiering at the Los Angeles, May 2013. Her first film project “Lavender: an Adapation” a film which she executive produced and wrote under her production company Epiphany 3 Films. “Lavender: an Adaptation” won the Reel Sisters Spirit Award at the 2006 Reel Sisters of the Diaspora Film Festival. Lavender also went on to screened at the Spaghetti Junction Film Festival, Black Hollywood Resource & Education Center (BHREC), and the ImageNation Film & Music Festival. Also a Digital Interactive Producer, working on major brands like SONY, Toyota Motor Sales, BMWUSA, and Monster.
A New York City native, Maryam cut her teeth in the business by studying with some of the greats in acting, the late Israel Hicks, Susan Batson, Black Nexxus, Inc. and master teacher, Ivana Chubbuck. Also holding a BFA from Temple University her first role out of college was being cast as the Buxom Chorine the 2001 Tony Award Winning Broadway Revival of “42nd Street”, “The Producer’s” Movie Musicial and “Broadway Bares”.
Appearing on television and film her notable on camera credits include: NBC’s Law & Order, FX’s Rescue Me, Sony Pictures’ Fort Pit, feature films, “Noise” and “Indelible” and has voiced radio spots for McDonalds and Honda. Additionally she has graced the New York stage in performances with the Negro Ensemble’s World Premiere of “Offspring” and the New York premiere of “Satchel” for the New Federal Theatre both receiving ADELCO Award nominations. Maryam is a proud member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.
