Marilyn McIntyre

Director

Ms McIntyre has known Parker since the late 1990’s when she was his teacher at the USC School of Dramatic Arts (formerly School of Theatre). She recognized his unique talents as an actor and writer, and has been a mentor, fan and friend for years before also becoming his director. The first production was Larry Kramer’s The Normal Heart, and now his original one-person show The Abnormal Heart. 

 

Acting professionally for 5 decades, Marilyn has played leading roles on and Off-Broadway and with several major regional theatre companies (Alley Theatre, Walnut St. Theatre, Utah Shakespeare Festival, et al.) She has garnered a number of awards for her work in LA including 2 LA Drama Critics Circle awards, Ovation Award & 2  nominations, LA Weekly award and nominations for her work with the VS Theatre Co, Matrix Theatre Co, Deaf West and Interact. Her extensive television credits include series regular and Guest Star roles on several shows: Grey’s Anatomy, Chicago Hope, LA Law, X-Files, et al.  Film credits include The Amendment (opp. Mike Vogel); 30-Love (opp. Brenda Vaccaro) First DaughterVery Bad Things and cult favorite George Luca In Love. Marilyn has also directed a number of productions, workshops and readings of original plays: The Intercession by Cybele May, Enroute by Devon O’Brien and several projects with the Interact, Playwright’s Kitchen, WIT and university & conservatory workshops and showcases.
