José was born and raised in the South Bronx of New York City to Puerto Rican Parents. He was bit by the acting bug when he was cast as a lead in a Spanish version of “The Wizard of Oz”. Jose went on to perform in various school plays and continued his studies at Lehman College located in the North Bronx, Where he graduated with a BA in Sociology and a Minor in Theater. During his studies at Lehman, Jose wrote and performed a solo show entitled “Father Forgive for I have Sinned”. Where he introduces his family and how he grew up as a Puerto Rican boy living in the South Bronx. After completing his BA, Jose moved to Los Angeles to pursue a career in Film and TV. He was accepted into a two year intensive Meisner Technique program, at the Elizabeth Mestnik Acting studio in Hollywood. Living in Los Angeles has sparked an interest in making his own films. He has a desire to produce work about issues and people that are normally never spoken of. He wants his work to force his audience to think outside the box of their own lives and hopefully make a difference in the world. Jose is currently in NYC working on his One man Show.
