(Director) Anita Khanzadian’s Los Angeles Directing Credits include: John Patrick Shanley’s DREAMER EXAMINES HIS PILLOW and BEGGERS IN THE HOUSE OF PLENTY (West Coast Premiere). For the Interact Theatre Company in L.A. Anita has directed THE ROOT, DEATH OF A SALESMAN starring Eddie Jones (LA Drama Circle Critics Award for Outstanding Direction) and COUNSELLOR-AT-LAW (LA Drama Critics & Ovation Award for Outstanding Direction). She has been the Guest Director for LA RONDE, THE PARALLAX GARDEN, WAITING FOR THE MOON TO FALL, PAINTING CHURCHES, LET THE ROCKS SPEAK and THE MOTHS. In New York, she was the Artistic Director of Theatre at St. Clements and Co-Artistic Director of American Renaissance Theatre Company. Anita has been a Guest Director at Playwrights Horizons, Ubu Repertory and Perry St. Theatre. Her Regional Theatre directing credits include the Philadelphia Theatre Company, Hyde Park Theatre, and Aspen Playwrights Conference. Anita is a recipient of a USIA Guest Artist Grants. She directed productions of OUR TOWN, THE ZOO STORY and ALL MY SONS in India and Bangladesh. She staged Elizabeth Perry’s one-woman show based on the life of Elizabeth Stanton at the Washington Arena Stage. She also directed Stephanie Satie’s acclaimed one-woman show REFUGEES and COMING TO AMERICA: TRANSFORMATIONS which have both been touring internationally as well as throughout the U.S. Anita is a moderator at Theatre East’s Play Lab and has served on the faculty of the Theatre School at California Institute of Arts in Valencia, CA. She is married to actor Eddie Jones.
