Abigail Torrence

Hello there! I’m Abigail Torrence – I am a flutist, actress and artist. I began my theater career in 4th grade as Chip in “Beauty and the Beast”, and a few months after picked up the flute. I was double hooked! I continued to perform in school productions, from “The Little Mermaid Jr”, to “Pirates of Penzance”, to weathering through your typical nightmare adjacent High School production of “Into The Woods”. I also participated in my hometown after school orchestra, and continued to study studio art.
Despite going for a BA in Music with and Emphasis in Flute, I continued to excel my ceramic and sculpture skills, while performing in a student run theater club – The Players Society. Here I performed in original works like “The Party: A Fantastical Comedy of Errors,” and due to the pandemic, some virtual retelling of familiar works like “The Princess Bride.” Some of my favorite virtual projects included playing Will Stronghold in “High in the Sky: The Musical,” getting to perform as Katherine Howard in “Six,” and playing 5 flute and piccolo parts at once.
Aside from zoom shows, I performed on flute, piccolo, alto flute, and baroque flute in various music ensembles at Chapman University. Post college, I performed in my second productions of “Pirates of Penzance”, and more recently, “Into the Woods”. As for my music career, I have been performing in the Orange Coast College Orchestra, and preparing for a second production of a co-written musical, called “Dis-Topia”. In my free time I like to take dance classes, roller-skate, bake boysenberry pastries, and hang out with her cat Bartok. Finally – I am extremely ecstatic to be performing in my first Hollywood Fringe Festival, and am deeply honored to be sharing the stage with such talented actors.
