Grace Blakeman
Teaching Experience
Grace has taught improv and acting to children and teens at Nicholl’s Performing Arts Camp for four amazing summers. She has also taught improv to adults at various venues in New Orleans and coached local improv group, Dr. Awkward. Grace is ecstatic to be teaching at the New Movement NOLA. She is currently pursuing a Master of Arts in Teaching from Xavier University.
Training Experience
Grace began performing improv in high school and has been in love with it ever since. She has trained in improv and comedy writing at Second City. She has also studied with Chris and Tami of the New Movement Theater as well as Joe Bill (iO Chicago), Jill Bernard (Huge Improv Theater), and Bill Chott (the Improv Trick). Since she started performing improv professionally in 2006, she has been a member of several teams including ComedySportz NOLA and the improvised Shakespeare troupe, O’Vengeance. Grace has toured the country with her current group, Stupid Time Machine, and she has taken many master classes and workshops in her travels.
About Grace
Grace moved to New Orleans after graduating from LSU with a major in Communication Studies and minors in Theatre and Film & Media Arts. She is currently a cast member of Funny Bones Improv (New Orleans) and Stupid Time Machine. As a member of Stupid Time Machine, Grace has participated in the New Orleans Fringe Festival, New York International Fringe
Festival, Chicago Sketch Comedy Festival, and the Vampire Film Festival. She performed in the New Orleans edition of the Neutrino Project and also created the role of reporter, Willow Thunderbrook, for the local satirical news show, N.O. News. She is also known for her numerical series of “sexy” dances and will perform them upon request.
