Kelly McMahon

Director

Kelly is Los Angeles-based director and producer. Originally from Pennsylvania, she has created work in a variety of places including Chicago, Philadelphia, Pittsburgh, Seattle, Los Angeles, Galway, IRL, Belfast, NI, and New York City. Favorite directing projects include The Elephant Man, presented at The Mutter Museum, Cassandra at The Hollywood Fringe, and her adaptation Hamlet & Ophelia, which was nominated for Best Production and won Best Director at The Project ’06 Arts Festival in Galway. While in Seattle, she began an ongoing series – Playlist Seattle – which brought the city’s theatre artists and musicians together in an evening of original plays and live performance of the songs that inspire them. This organically developed into full length original works created in collaboration with musicians in the local scene. While continuing to develop her artistic practice as a generative theatre maker, she also gained experience in various administrative roles with arts organizations such as the Townhall Theatre Galway, The Ebell of Los Angeles, Seattle Theatre Group, Pittsburgh Irish and Classical Theatre, Collaboraction, Cornish Playhouse, Fremont Abbey Arts and Seattle Children’s Theatre. She currently works for The Recording Academy/GRAMMYs. Kelly has a MA degrees in Drama from the University of Pittsburgh and the National University of Ireland, Galway.
