Hysterically funny with new meaning to many of Wilde's classic lines delivered by a very talents and fun-loving cast telling the story of two couples fighting for the right to be engaged. This masterful satire written by Oscar Wilde (who was arrested in 1895 for "gross indecency with men”) would thoroughly delight his heart. Now that everyone has the legal right to marry, it’s timely for the play to be performed the way Wilde would have loved it done.
This timeless story gallivants through a...

Sandy Mansson obviously is a fan of Marilyn Monroe and does her best to portray the silver screen legend as a middle-aged bombshell with little prospects for work. Although she wears a copy of the iconic white dress, Ms. Mansson seems to have forgotten the proper posture needed to carry off the look and slumps her way around the stage rather than carrying herself as the star she was.
Most of the bits are funny, especially during auditions where her lack of confidence throws Marilyn into a ti...

I absolutely loved this show! Read my full review posted on Broadway World.
The World Premiere of ROCK & ROLL'S GREATEST LOVERS, with music by Anzu Lawson and Joerg Stoeffel, book and lyrics by Anzu Lawson, tells the Romeo and Juliet story of John Lennon and Yoko Ono, two rebels from opposite ends of the world who stood together in the name of LOVE only to face every kind of hate and tribulation. The 60 minute production of selected songs from the play is directed by Nell Teare, presented at ...

From the award-winning team who brought you last year's hit The Pokémusical, comes a new musical GIRAFFENSTEIN based on the tale of Shelley's Frankenstein as you've never seen it before. With book & music by Alex Syiek, direction & musical staging by Joanna Syiek, and musical direction by Jennifer Lin, the story follows Dr. Richard Giraffenstein on his journey across the African savannah where he creates a Monster, who, confused and angry, attempts to find a true home for himself. Song, dance, an...

Written and directed by Sean Dillon and Curtin Krick, DRAMATIS PERSONAE centers on an actor (Kristopher Lee Bicknell) who shares some wonderful gems that he has unearthed from the dim recesses of theatre history. The concept is looking at plays throughout history and the actors who became known for playing important roles in the shows, so much so that the role and actor have become so closely associated they have rarely (or in some cases, never) been performed by others until now. The show is p...

Acting 4 Camera presents a very interesting way to see a play – 52 scenes presented totally out of order based on a shuffled deck of cards in 52 PICK UP, now at the Hollywood Fringe Festival. The concept is that 10 actors learn all 52 scenes, but the couple that performs in the show each night will never be the same two actors so all 10 shows will be unique for even though the scenes are memorized, they will be done in a different order at each performance with two different actors. The only im...

Mariah Bonner strikes quite a figure as the narrator of these 5 short plays by The Alliance of Los Angeles Playwrights (ALAP). Encouraging the audience to post on social media about the show, many in the audience were more than happy to oblige! Each of the 5 plays poses questions about sexual orientation, attraction, and how social media has affected our relationships. Each story is simple in the telling, but deep in human interaction.

Having recently seen a production of LITTLE WOMEN The Musical, I was very familiar with the story but was totally surprised and laughed repeatedly at this very fast-paced hysterically modern take on the story by Beth Dies, Inc. Each of the women are perfectly cast and take their characters seriously and firmly tongue in cheek at the same time Be prepared to laugh at the scenes go by at an astonishing pace!
Poor Beth (Rachel Lin) takes the brunt of abuse for her coughing, carrying it to the ...

Kyla Garcia portrays dozens of characters in her amazing one-woman show. Besides her ability to totally transform herself moment to moment, sometimes presenting conversations with three people at once with each defined through both body and spirit, Kyla is also brilliant modern dancer and created scene breaks with soulful dance movement accompanied by voice over describing the scene. I was totally captivated throughout the hour long show. IT is a shame there are only a few chances to catch this...
