Susan Dalian

Susan is excited to be making her Hollywood Fringe director debut with The Narcissist Next Door. In November 2018 she directed a staged reading of the play at The Matrix and it receives its world premiere here at festival.

Susan has directed several plays, and short film projects including the short film Bite Me which she co-wrote and co-directed, Upholstered and Stuffed which she directed and wrote, a virtual reality 3D film experience produced by Shakespeare in the Sphere where she directed scenes from Hamlet and Macbeth starring actors Neil Flynn, Michelle Hurd, Eddie Steeples and Kelly Perine, several plays with Sierra Classic Theatre where she is known for her non-traditional settings of Shakespeare’s plays (Midsummer Night’s Dream, The Two Gentlemen of Verona, The Merchant of Venice, As You Like It, Macbeth, Outside Mullinger and in August 2018 Macbeth set is the post apocalyptic world of 2069), plays with Mammoth Lakes Repertory Theatre (Art Dog, The Importance of Being Earnest), and Lie After Lie After Lie by Stephen Dierkes which she directed as part of Mach 33: Playwrights Festival of Science Driven Plays with Cal Tech and Pasadena Playhouse.

Dalian began her career as an actress with many roles on television shows and film and is known for her role of the gun wielding, jilted fiancée “Bebe Fales” opposite Shemar Moore in The Brothers. Other work includes roles in Disney’s The Kid, Undefeated, Room 6, and films with independent filmmaker Jennifer Sharp: Boxed(Lead), Time Travellers(Lead) I’m Through With White Girls(Cameo). She has appeared onstage in lead and supporting roles at theaters such as South Coast Repertory Theater, American Conservatory Theater, Berkeley Repertory Theatre, and The Actors’ Gang. Dalian is the voice of lethal ninja kid “Haku” in Naruto and “Storm” in Wolverine and the X-Men.

Susan is from Baltimore, MD, where she graduated from the nationally recognized Baltimore School For the Arts, and has B.F.A from Boston University.
