Petal d'Avril

A Cali breed actor and performer, Petal d’Avril started off at eight years old as a competitive figure skater.With a keen awareness for interpretation and visualization, she transferred her performance from the ice to the stage. Petal received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Theatre Arts from Cal-state Dominguez Hills University, and then continued her training at the Ruskin School of Acting where she studied the Meisner method and furthered to develop her skills with a profound love and passion for the craft. Next came the Advance Scene Study Workshop at The Robey Theatre Company.

Petal d’Avril made her debut in The Robey Theatre’s World Premiere production of The Magnificent Dunbar Hotel at the Los Angeles Theatre Center, which was also invited to the National Black Theatre Festival in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. Other credits include, Flyin’ West, by Pearl Cleage, Wine In the Wilderness, by Alice Childress, where she enjoyed playing the role of Tommy, and Beneatha in A Raisin in the Sun, where she was nominated for Best Supporting Actress at CSU New African Grove Theatre.

Petal’s solo show Forgetting not Forgotten has lead her to her latest life passion with Clean Awareness Living.
