Description
The Zephyr’s Zest Award honors the zestiest show at the Zephyr Theatre. The production that combines exceptional artistic quality with strong audience appeal. We’re looking for work that not only delivers creatively, but also fills seats and builds momentum. The Zephyr Theatre, operated by Theatre Planners Venues, is a 74-seat, 3/4 thrust space in West Hollywood dedicated to supporting artists in creating and sustaining successful runs.
This award was created to recognize the shows that truly pop, the ones audiences are excited about and that have the potential to extend beyond the festival.
Qualifications
Need to have at least 3 performances and be performing at the Zephyr Theatre.

Methodology
A diverse committee of Theatre Planners Staff will attend all productions at The Zephyr Theatre that has applied with 3 or more performances. From there, we will select a group of nominees, and ultimately one stand out show will be awarded the Zephyr’s Zest.
While there is no rigid scoring rubric, productions will be considered based on a combination of factors, including overall artistic quality, audience engagement and attendance, consistency of performances, and the show’s potential for a successful extension. Our goal is to identify the production that not only delivers creatively, but also demonstrates the ability to connect with and grow an audience.
Reward
Certificate & Digital Laurel
One extension opportunity at a 50/50 box office split with the venue until $700 in ticket sales is reached; after that, all profits will go to the winner.
Note: Tech fee is paid separately by the participant
