What I liked

The cast was the highlight of this play for me. The entire cast showed confidence and bravery as they handled challenging language and subject material.

What I didn't like

I appreciated the use of the moving boxes to create the set. I personally wish that they were expanded on the stage to create less negative space, or if they are kept in place, for the negative space on stage to be utilized more. This is a minor nitpick, however.

My overall impression

I give much respect to the courage that it takes for this cast and crew to take on such a deeply nuanced classic play and finding a way to harness the bravery and vulnerability in a compelling way for a modern audience. This team clearly has an excellent understanding of the text, the entire cast demonstrates a clear mastery of the language. I feel that this production took some time to reach the point of captivation, but it certainly achieved this in its final 30 minutes, creating some brilliantly intense and moving scenes. I feel that this play would be enjoyed by both those who are familiar with the text and those who have never seen an Ibsen play before, which is quite an accomplishment.
