It was a one person performance, and a well done one at that. As someone who struggles with public speaking, I find it to be very brave. The character Gene Christ was also very warm and charming.
What I didn't like
Keeping it a one man show is a really cool idea; it may add to the experience by adding a few background elements to help anchor the points in the story, like the protests, forest and sewage dump scenes. One thought would be to have silent stage actors in carry tree or building props in as the story progresses.
The parts of the dialogue were difficult for me to hear because I am hard of hearing (and sat in the back row).
Really enjoyed the lighting done at the end! It would be super cool to see that artistic take displayed throughout the whole play.
My overall impression
Really thankful I made it up to LA to see this performance. The performance was well acted and sincere. Overall, I found it sweet and heartwarming tale of the good that lives in us all.
