What I liked
The music and dance was rollicking good fun, the message of self-pleasure and discovering one’s tastes came across, and it was sexy. The narrator is beyond hysterical, generating some of the biggest laughs in the show. Casting was pretty top notch all around, especially the sexually frustrated dragon. Also, if the phrase “sexually frustrated dragon” doesn’t pique your interest even a little bit, you’re boring at parties.
What I didn't like
I found myself wanting less dialogue, more song and dance. Sometimes, my toddler brain just wants spectacle, which Cherries does have in droves.
My overall impression
I haven’t seen a whole lot of burlesque so I don’t have much of a standard to judge it by, but I don’t think that matters because I had a blast.
