physical acting on point & hilarious; i very much appreciate nostalgia and nerdity
What I didn't like
Boyfriend felt very gaslighting, which is never acknowledged. The script’s empathy appears very biased toward his pov; everything appears to be her fault at the end for wanting him to “change” (compromise) even to mix up their weekly routine on occasion. Whereas, as the plot when on, I increasingly read him as manipulating their shared love of Disney nostalgia to exert control, even reacting strongly when she changes her usual drink order & later deflecting her expressions of discontent in the relationship onto her anxiety.
My overall impression
The staging and performances are delightful. I love the references. The story of the relationship, though, has some blind spots in presentation and seemed to slant in a direction that set off some red flags for me.
