What I liked
Ingratiating Rick Zoerner himself, solid and fearless in examining his life history.
What I didn't like
RZ deserves better help that he’s received in shaping his real-life material, and in integrating his unexpected revelations. With a more pro approach, the show would not run 70 minutes, somewhat beyond its advertised length.
My overall impression
“There are 8-million stories in The Naked City…”—-and sometimes it seems like there are that many in the HFF catalog, too! This one was unfairly overlooked in its three times at bat, gone after yesterday’s matinee (SAT the 17th).
Built around the Pre-Season Coaching Speech concocted by real-life la crosse coach Rick Zoerner it’s peppered with some Darkly Dramatic real-life confessions you don’t see coming!
