What I liked
While it is dealing with hard issues in life, the show was incredibly optimistic and fun. There is so much wit in the writing. And the actors were incredible. I was really impressed by their skill and ability to hit both the comedic and dramatic beats.
What I didn't like
If anything, the show went by too quickly and I wanted more. They could easily add another 10 minutes of story (I found myself curious about their histories and youth… wondering how these two adults got here) .
My overall impression
What a fantastic show! It was both sad and life-affirming, funny and poignant. The story felt very real and grounded – and there was great tenderness between the main characters as they both shared their struggles. The ending is heart-breaking but very realistic, which makes the show feel that much more important.
