What I liked

Sif’s second monologue was gorgeous and the bonkers abstract concept is worthy of a Fringe show, no doubt.

What I didn't like

Sif’s monologues to Randy and Randy’s to Sif are lovely, but when Randy is on his own breaking barriers of time and space, it can become too much “actor running at walls and pretending” and break the intended deep pathos. More clarity for the audience is needed to bring them into the worlds and moments that Randy is so clearly inhabiting.

My overall impression

A challenging, cinematic tour through one man’s psyche (heart) as he searches for his lost partner, Sif. Through a series of Vonnegut- and Gilliam-infused jumps in time, space, and reality, Randy experiences his past, possible answers for Sif’s disappearance, and a torrent of emotions arriving in the form of clock and dagger espionage, Dungeons and Dragons heroics, and World War battlefields. The intent is there, but it is truly SO cinematic and purposefully disjointed that the jumps in space and character don’t always flow. There are some wonderful poetic moments and a truly gorgeous monologue by Sif, but while the small space definitely gives some claustrophobia to being trapped in his own heart, if you aren’t following the words and poetry incredibly closely, it can become confusing and messy.
