I am in awe of artists who can explore the pains of the human experience in the unflinching way ARSONIST OF VENICE does. This play is like sipping whiskey — it burns on the way down but leaves you feeling warm and a little bit softer.
What I didn't like
No notes here, just admiration.
My overall impression
Blake Shields writes and performs with his whole soul. This is a dark, virulent piece told in the poetic and lyrical way I’ve come to associate with Shields’ voice. The actors left everything they had on stage.
