What I liked

The Arsonist of Venice has an amazing cast. Bayer, Hannon, and Shields fill the stage and at the same time left room in my imagination wondering what will happen next. Each character has a dark past yet the actors brings unique physicality and quiet humor to these troubled souls on the night their meeting. I loved the poetry and philosophy in the script as well as the slow build to the final moments. The Arsonist of Venice held me to the very end.

My overall impression

The Arsonist of Venice is a complex drama that put me on the edge of my from the very beginning. The characters are eloquent yet mysterious. Blake Shields’ writing is both suspenseful and poetic.
