Brendan really utilized the bigger stage in a way that felt way more intimate than it could’ve. His on-stage costume changes were funny, nearly-seamless, and pretty hot to watch as well. Brendan’s storytelling feels like you’re just chatting with an old friend, not rehearsed in a way that could make the show seem more like a TedTalk, yet still elevated. Brendan’s story is both relatable and a vulnerable insight into his unique experience.
What I didn't like
There were one or two moments where the slide or music jumped ahead but those moments were handled creatively and did not distract from the show in any way.
My overall impression
A delightfully joyous recollection of Brendan Hunt’s experiences that had me laughing, crying, and laughing again all in a short 50 minute experience. Brendan Hunt tells his story with the glitz, the glam, and the darkness that has clearly created this very funny and self-reflective entertainer who paints his euro-trash past on stage with dance, a slide show, and humor that can make the most stone-faced grin. The standing ovation at the end of the show was more than deserved, and if the remainder of his shows were not already sold out (for good reason) I would go again and again.
