What I liked

I loved the simple setting and Hailey’s use of the space. She moved effortlessly in and around the set, using it to its full potential. And I loved the writing and directing.

What I didn't like

I felt the story was a little too linear. I would’ve loved a little more variety in the scenes so that it wasn’t just a linear story from start to finish. It also felt like it was ending at least 3 times. So maybe act 3 might have been a little better crafted. But the actual ending was pretty brilliant and certainly an honest and vulnerable story.

My overall impression

Extremely well written and very honest. Right from the get go it’s hard not to be captivated by Hailey’s character Effie. Hailey is on fire in this show as she takes us through Effie’s life, crazy lifestyle, and the bizarre characters in her life. We follow Effie as she moves through her life over the course of a couple days leading to an extremely heartfelt and brutal ending. The pacing is fast and in your face as Hailey brilliantly navigates the space, alternating between talking to the audience and interacting with the people in her story.
