What I liked

The show had great ups and downs, in a rhythm that kept the audience on board and, sometimes, at the edge of our seats. The epic nature of it helped to bring about her incredible development as a character, and we clearly see why she makes the difficult decisions that she makes. I love how clearly everyone is defined and how we can easily understand both how her relationships with them are and how they change as she grows as a person.

What I didn't like

Not a lot in this could be improved. There is a bit of a sensitive subject toward the end, so I would recommend a content warning for those who might be triggered by it, but otherwise it was fantastic. I would have liked to know her job history and why she’s unemployed and not really looking for work, but that’s just part of leaving the audience wanting more.

My overall impression

I am always wary of one-person shows. How will they keep us entertained for the length of the performance? This show, however, was a roller coaster, and I often forgot it was just one character. She kept the audience engaged the entire time, and while the show was incredibly intense, it was brilliantly done. The Attic Collective always delivers, and this was no exception. Iphigenia in Splott was a moving piece with an intriguing mess of a character, and the journey on which she takes us is as harrowing as it is endearing. At the beginning, she is laughable, but by the end we completely adore her.
