Arianne and jo tell the story of their experiences as two people of color from the time before they met to present day after reconnecting during the 2020 racial uprising. Through both dramatic and comedic scenes, even the moments of silence and waiting are elements of racial trauma.
The story follows Arianne and jo in separate but parallel worlds as a black woman and a Filipino nonbinary woman, respectively. Their worlds connect in college where they experienced racial trauma together in the same environment. A reflection on this part of their lives opens up old wounds as well as the sometimes painful, sometimes empowering self-discovery.
