What I liked

Laser will just casually say things that immediately bring you to your knees from laughing so hard. The subtlety of some of the jokes was delicious too, incorporating sly references to nerd and queer culture or a touch of wordplay. The prop comedy? Primo stuff.

I can really feel how much this show was put together with a lot of care and consideration. The bits are tight, the flow will drag you forward effortlessly, the props have meaning, the songs hit on multiple levels — the sheer density of material Laser and team have packed into under an hour is staggering.

What I didn't like

Laser really needs to learn how to time travel without summoning the ghost of JK Rowling. Quite a vibe-killer.

My overall impression

What can’t Laser do? He can come up with jokes that leave the audience gasping for air, he can write songs that are catchy and hit the heart, and he can tell stories in ways the will captivate you, all while dissecting what it means to be trans masc. Laser is my new best friend, and he could be yours if you see A Shark Ate My Penis.
