What I liked
The concept, the massive scholarship (MOST of it true!), the palm-in-hand delivery, which certainly captivated his shoulder-to-shoulder audience for almost an hour.
What I didn't like
LESS would be MORE, overall!
My overall impression
“Too much of a good thing,” as Mae West once reminded us, “can be wonderful!” But after 53 rapid-fire, densely-detailed minutes of this faux lecture by “Professor Michael Blaha” I felt less titillated than bludgeoned by his scholarship!
With MORE research than Ms. West (his “maiden” solo show was on wanking!) he should rebill himself as Michael BlaHAHA—-and trim a few minutes so that the whole is MORE than the sum of its many, many parts and more easily retained. (There’s enough for SHAGADELIC #2 already!) He’ll remind you of Carl Reiner with his dry delivery, peppered with zippy asides, and you’ll certainly learn A LOT!
