What I liked

I appreciated the author’s openness and courage in sharing such personal experiences. The storytelling is engaging and heartfelt, making it easy to connect emotionally. I also liked how the book highlights perseverance and transformation, especially how she turned her struggles into success.

What I didn't like

At times, the pacing feels uneven, with some sections going into too much detail while others feel rushed. A bit more balance between storytelling and reflection could make the narrative smoother.

My overall impression

Not My Grandmother’s Daughter by Rea Ann Silva is a powerful and emotional memoir that explores trauma, resilience, and personal growth. The story is honest and raw, giving deep insight into the author’s difficult childhood and how it shaped her journey. Overall, it’s inspiring and thought-provoking, showing how strength can emerge from pain. Official Website
