My overall impression
Sam is a brilliant storyteller and this show draws on his strengths as a stand-up, as well as his sincerity, for a story about a complex father-son relationship. What does it mean to be “the man of the house”? What’s it like to have a dad that means well and doesn’t quite “do” well all the time?
