So much great physical comedy in the scene descriptions and vivid word use.
What I didn't like
Still needs to be memorized to be fully embodied.
My overall impression
Sam has managed to elevate what could be a darkly comedic stand-up set about a father taking his elementary school-aged son to AA meetings into a beautifully fleshed out hour long story of father and son. It’s meaningful but not heavy. Authentic but not maudlin. Be clear, the show is loaded with laughs, including an inner child who sounds like Jerry Seinfeld and a hysterically physical scene on a Sea-Doo. But in between – and even behind the laughs – is a very touching story about a son coming to grips with who his father wasn’t and who he was, “an unconventional father.”
