What I liked

J. Bailey Burcham’s direction is on point making sure there isn’t a bad seat in the house
Pam Eberhart’s song selection and how she builds an easy to follow narrative only using said songs and her patented amazing medleys is a joy
Lucas Alfiano, Jeff Scott Carey, Sydnee Ortiz, and Parissa Koo are all powerhouse singers, and have real mastery of how to own and more importantly share a stage so that they all shine. They harmonize beautifully as singers and as actors.

What I didn't like

Make it clear if the audience should be singing along. I felt they should. And frankly even if they aren’t, you won’t stop me from singing along to Behind these Hazel Eyes

My overall impression

What happens when the musical theater kids you knew in high school are all grown up and are all extraordinarly talented? You realize they were the cool kids all along. These first couple of sentences are not a synopsis of School of Love, it’s an unabashed appreciation for the all the performers and smart direction of this very addictive cabaret show. While the story is simple, the choice of crowd pleasing songs based around the theme of young love is inspired. The performances range from subtle to a glorious wall of perfectly harmonized sound that makes you, no demands you sing along, and get lost in the joy an heartbreak of being back in high school. After you’ve watched a heart wrenching one man/woman show that posits our mortality and place in the universe. Go see School of Love, and be reminded to just enjoy the here and now.
