The DENSE Dramatization, by David Stuart Davies, which commands close attention as it touches upon the entire (imaginary) life of Holmes within one hour, abetted by the careful (minimalist) direction of Gareth Armstrong and the playing of Nigel Miles-Thomas. Within its ouevre it could not be bettered!
What I didn't like
Everyone = at the top of his game—-Writer, Director, Star. What’s to Improve? Nothing!
My overall impression
SHERLOCKHOLMES was an Icon of MY era (the 20th-century!) so I was pleased to be invited to yesterday’s matinee (SAT the 17th), a week earlier than my ticket (NEXT Sat). An amazingly DENSE Dramatization of the entire (imaginary) life of Holmes, and Watson, it is well-served by Brit Nigel Miles-Thomas, who scores the tour-de-force of his five-decade career by taking charge of the entire Holmes canon by himself! (I predict a triumph in August at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, to which he and the show are headed under the aegis of Fringe Management.)
