A wonderful performance by Nigel Miles-Thomas. It’s tough to do Holmes without having the audience harken back to some other performer (Basil Rathbone, Jeremy Brett, etc.). Miles-Thomas avoids that comparison.
What I didn't like
While it’s a great show for people who don’t know the Holmes stories, it’s a little “rote” for those who do. As a person of the latter, the section about Holmes father was the most interesting, as I had not heard that before.
My overall impression
This is a great “recap” of all things Holmes. It hits all of the major points of the original Conan Doyle stories, presented as Holmes reminiscing about his life and career. If you don’t know much about the Holmes oeuvre this is a great way to dive in.
