What I liked

The videos were incredible. Also Chris’s ease with the audience, she is very funny, but more telling is when a joke doesn’t land, she lets us know she loves the joke and hopes one day we’ll get on board. Again like a long time friend would do.

What I didn't like

Take what I have to say as a man who was not a teenager in this time period with a HUGE grain of salt and the appropriate levels of side eye. A few of the refrences went over my head. She is also a very talented singer, so maybe more singing? And I think there are three very compelling but competing stories within this show, that I wish came together thematically a little more. Otherwise a VERY, VERY fun hour and worth your time.

My overall impression

Chris Farah is a very talented, engaging, and downright warm and funny performer. She immediately puts you at ease and makes you feel part of her clique. She talks about the ups and downs and struggles of a teenage life as she is caught between the whiteness of Newport Beach, her own cultural heritage, the culture of the 90’s, the lost ending of Models INC, as well as her divorcing parents. THe video proof of how teenage dreams can really go sideways might be one of the funnies thing I’ve seen in years. And the beauty of what Chris does is she never makes you feel pity, she just make you empathize and feel included. Its a wonderful show.
