What I liked
Everything. The set design was it’s own character replicating a bedroom from 1997. The home movies punctuated the storytelling perfectly. The music cues had me building a playlist to listen to. Even when you could hear noise from the outside, Chris effortlessly weaved it into the show like a consummate professional getting extra laughs. Her father-daughter story had me wanting to call my own Dad.
What I didn't like
It’s true perfection. I am so glad Chris shared her story with us in this show. It’s an important story, relatable, earnest, funny, and heartwarming. I want to be more like Chris when I grow up. She is the ICON.
My overall impression
Chris Farah is a singular performer who commands the stage and holds the audience in the palm of her hand. She’s the best friend you wish you had, the sister you’ve always needed, and her show will connect with you in such profound ways you’ll be thinking of her show long after you’ve left the theater. It is easily one of the best solo shows I have ever seen, and I have seen a lot of them. Chris Farah is a bright shining star. She should have this special on Netflix, HBO, Amazon, wherever the most people can see it. But nothing will beat being in the room and watching the master at work.
