The specificity of the characters
The simplicity and effectiveness of props/costumes
True originality because it’s so personal
Audience work and engagement
Use of the space
Movement work for characters and the dance
What I didn't like
thought it was great as is
My overall impression
Wow. I left Flayed both moved by the deeply personal nature of the story and impressed at the virtuosity of the performance. Flayed takes you on a wild journey bursting with creativity and hilarity, securely within the capable hands of Josiah, who transforms from moment to moment as he draws you into his magical landscape. It’s impossible not to connect with the storytelling, and the audience is as much a part of the fun as the kaleidoscope characters. It’s a must-see show.
