By far the best set design of any play i’ve seen so far. On top its scary how accurate this play felt to some morning i have had. Im a very straight edge guy but seeing The Addict (Chance) in their underwear strumming a guitar or reenacting the Matrix was hella relatable. This play just felt very honest and intimate.
What I didn't like
More dialogues would’ve been nice. I really appreciated the power behind the intensity of their words. I would’ve preferred to hear more nihilistic monologues since this play does such a good job of capturing that “what’s the point of it all” feeling.
Regardless it’s still a great human piece.
My overall impression
Trying is a 30min view into the life of an addict. Through amazing set design , relatable dialogue, and incredible acting Chance is able to offer a very intimate view into the life of someone who is at rock bottom. Its such an honest portrayal of the following morning after someones world was shattered. A great stand alone piece that I recommend everyone watch
