What I liked
The vocal talents of the actors was off the charts. This was the third musical I saw at Fringe and it clearly had the best performers. All three of them were on point. I loved the simplicity of the set and how well the actors connected with the audience. Very honest and emotional.
What I didn't like
If I could comment on anything, it would be to have had a group bow at the end. Just to remind us that it was a complete piece. The last Fringe I participated in I directed two solo shows in a one hour time slot. And although each had their own bow, at the end, the first actor did come out and join the second actor to remind the audience that it was a complete show. Just a thought. Otherwise, amazing job!
My overall impression
What a truly moving show. And I can only attest to the second group of shows, since there are two sets. And the ones I saw, of the three musicals, were brilliant. Just breathtaking. All three of the actors dug deep and disappeared into these incredible stories that at times I forgot they were actors and thought they were the real vets. It’s so powerful. All the music and songs were on point and each piece was so well contained. I was moved several times and can’t wait to check out the rest of them on YouTube.
