About the Project
When her mother passes away, a teenage girl named Annie Lee is left alone with her father. Years later, Annie has grown into a woman who cannot shake the influence of her domineering father. In an attempt to make her own choices, she goes on a date with Lamar, a police officer who she met while working as a waitress at a diner. Though Annie and Lamar genuinely like each other and share a strong connection, she puts up a wall that does not allow him to come too close. Returning home from a date, she faces the wrath of her father and for the first time, she stands up to him. It finally makes her realize that overcoming her father’s terror at home is the only way she can find her own voice and let love into her life.
