About the Project
Swordplay LA is one of fencing and theatrical combat studios in Los Angeles. In its 29 years of business Swordplay LA has trained thousands of actors including academy award winning talent,Olympic athletes, child stars and much more. This workshop is designed for actors, directors, and fight choreographers who want to learn the art of stage combat. Swordplay LA will teach in a variety of stage combat techniques, including safety protocols, sword fighting, hand-to-hand combat, and choreography. Participants will have the opportunity to learn the basics of stage combat, to practice their skills in a safe and controlled environment and also to watch fight demos by the experts at Swordplay LA. The demos will showcase different stage combat techniques and provide participants with a better understanding of how to execute them in a performance setting. This workshop is perfect for those new to stage combat, as well as those who want to improve their existing skills.
