What I liked

First off, the actors. Angelique and Matthew nailed it! Their chemistry was off the charts, making their characters feel like real people going through a bizarre but hilarious situation.

Next, the dialogue. It was sharp and rapid-fire. You just can’t help but be hooked by the quick-witted exchanges and perfect comedy timings.

Direction-wise, it was so active and the movements and the whole stage setup was just fantastic. The physical comedy with boxes was gold. Everything flowed naturally and added to the whole laugh-a-minute feel of the show.

What I didn't like

I can’t really say there was anything I didn’t like. If they adapt this into a TV pilot or web series, they might consider adding a B plot to help a bit with overall pacing (maybe give the dad his own mini arc). But, honestly, as it is, this play is golden.

My overall impression

What an absolute blast! “The King & I, and Paul” is a rapid-fire comedy that feels right up there with sitcoms like “modern Family”. At just 22 minutes, I was bummed when it ended – I wanted to binge more!

It’s all about what happens when you move in together, the weird stuff you find out about each other, and how a surprise guest can either make or break the situation. It’s a fun look at how love has a way of sorting out even the most ridiculous problems. If you’re up for a laugh and want to see what happens when a couple’s spat over Elvis memorabilia gets hilariously out of hand, go see “The King & I, and Paul”. It’s a riot from start to finish!
